‘Special rookie’ Paul Skins (21, Pittsburgh Pirates), who showed skills that could dominate the league as soon as he debuted in the major league, will step onto the stage of the ‘star-studded’ Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game.

Skins was named to the final roster for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game, announced by the MLB office on the 8th (Korean time).

Skins, a right-handed orthodox pitcher who throws fastballs exceeding 160 km/h, was selected first overall in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft held on July 10th last year and wore the Pittsburgh uniform.

This year, he appeared in 7 games for the Indianapolis Indians, a Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, posting an ERA of 0.99, and was promoted to the major leagues in May.

Since his promotion to the major leagues, the Skins have been bombing the league with a 5-0 record, 59⅓ innings, 78 strikeouts, and an ERA of 2.12 in 10 games.

The MLB office has set out to create stars by nominating the Skins, who are quickly emerging as the league’s representative stars, as All-Star players.

Drafted by Pittsburgh on July 10th of last year, Skins earned the honor of being named an All-Star less than a year after being drafted.

“I thought my chances of going to the All-Star Game were slim because I started the season in Triple-A,” Skins told MLB.com. “It’s an honor to be able to play in the big leagues for a little while and go to the All-Star Game.”

Skins is even tipped to be a possible National League starting pitcher in the All-Star Game.

“I’m not expecting it, but it would be really cool if it happened,” he said.

Outfielder Heliot Ramos (24, San Francisco Giants), younger brother of Henry Ramos (32), who plays for the professional baseball team Doosan Bears, was also selected for his first MLB All-Star.

Ramos, who debuted in the major league in 2022, had only appeared in 34 games until last year.

This year, the season opened in the minor leagues as well, but San Francisco center fielder Lee Jung-hoo (25) suffered a shoulder injury in mid-May, ending the season, increasing his opportunities to play.

Ramos, who made a dramatic return to the major league stage, led the San Francisco offense with a batting average of 0.299, 12 home runs, and 41 RBIs in 54 games, and became an All-Star.

“I still can’t believe it. I played with all my might, not to become an All-Star, but to help the team win. I’m so grateful,” Ramos said.

This year’s MLB All-Star Game will be held on the 17th at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, the home stadium of the Texas Rangers. 카지노 커뮤니티
