The pair of Cho Min-kyung and Jeong Tae-young defeated China’s Wang Meng and Yang Jinchao 8-3 in the finals of the 2024 World Wheelchair Mix Double Curling Championships held at the Gangneung Curling Center in Gangwon-do on the 16th.

In this tournament, in which 21 countries participated, the team of Cho Min-kyung and Jeong Tae-young took first place in the preliminaries with 5 wins and 1 loss, and beat Estonia (7-4 wins) in the quarterfinals and Italy (9-6) in the semifinals to advance to the finals. It went up.

In the final, Cho Min-kyung and Jeong Tae-young took the lead from the beginning, scoring 5 points through the 4th end while giving up only 1 point to China.

After giving up one point to China in the 5th end, they ran away with 3 points in the 6th end, and China withdrew in the 8th end, confirming their victory.

The pair of Cho Min-kyung and Jeong Tae-young became the first Korean disabled and non-disabled players to reach the top at the Curling World Championships.

Wang Meng is a gold medalist at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Paralympics, and Yang Jinchao is a talented athlete who won the World Wheelchair Curling Championships held in Richmond, Canada in March last year.

Ranking points for participation in the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Paralympics are at stake in this competition.
