South Korea’s bid to win the men’s soccer title at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games will take on Japan in the final. Japan defeated Hong Kong 4-0 in the semifinals of the tournament on Thursday at the Xiaoshan Sports Center Stadium in Hangzhou, China .Japan, the men’s soccer champions at Guangzhou 2010 and runners-up to South Korea at Jakarta-Palembang 2018, reached their second consecutive Asian Games final .A win for South Korea, who face Uzbekistan in the semifinals at the Kowloon Sports Centre Stadium from 9 p.m. today, would mean a second consecutive men’s Asian Games final between Japan and South Korea .In the semifinal against Hong Kong, Japan took the lead in the 23rd minute when Ayukawa Yi finished with his left foot in front of goal from a deflected free-kick, before Shota Hino added a header nine minutes into the second half. Gomi Yota scored a wedge goal in the 29th minute and Hino completed his multi-goal performance with an early victory celebration in the 41st minute. Hong Kong, coached by Jørgen Andersen (NOR), who has previously managed the North Korean national team and K League One side Incheon United, failed to capitalize on the momentum of reaching the men’s soccer quarterfinals for the first time at an Asian Games and were pushed into the bronze medal match. The men’s football final will take place at 9 p.m. (local time) on July 7 at the Kowloon Sports Center Stadium, with the bronze medal match to follow at 스포츠토토 the Sangcheong Sports Center Stadium from 5 p.m. on the same day.
