Qatar secured two consecutive wins in AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifying, with a 6-0 victory over Myanmar.
Qatar, who defeated South Korea in qualifying for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Championship 2024, have made it two wins in a row in their group.
Qatar defeated Myanmar 6-0 in the second match of Group B of the tournament on Monday at the Changwon Football Center in Gyeongnam, South Korea.
The tournament is the first gateway to next year’s AFC U-23 Asian Cup, the final Asian qualifier for the Paris Olympics.
The top two teams from each of the 11 qualifying groups, the top four teams from Group 2 and hosts Qatar will qualify for the U-23 Asian Cup in April-May 2024.
Qatar, who defeated South Korea 2-0 at the same venue on June 6, have been on fire, scoring eight goals in two matches.
Myanmar, who drew 1-1 with Kyrgyzstan in their Group B opener on the same day, were swept aside by Qatar’s six goals.
However, the match against the hosts of the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup is considered a friendly and does not count as a full game in the rankings.
Qatar opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when Mohammed Khaled Hassan trapped a cross from the back with his thigh in the penalty area before firing a right-footed outside kick into the top corner of the net.
In the seventh minute of the second half, Tamim Mansur Al Abdullah was on hand to slide the ball into the back of the net with the heel of his right foot after the Myanmar defense had barely cleared it off the goal line.
Then in the 15th minute, after breaking down the Myanmar defense on the right flank, Al Abdullah scored the third goal with a strong right-footed shot into the corner of the opposite goal.
In the 33rd minute, Ahmed Alawi, who rushed into the box, scored the fourth goal with a right-footed inside kick.
Myanmar had Htut Maiat Kant sent off in the 34th minute for stepping on an opponent’s calf, and Qatar scored a late consolation goal against 10-man Myanmar, with Lotfi Madjer scoring a brace just before the end of the match.
The other match in Group B, between South Korea and Kyrgyzstan, 먹튀검증 will take place at 8 p.m. today at the same venue.
