Professional baseball Doosan Bears captured right-handed reliever Hong Geon-hee (31), who was released as a free agent.
Doosan announced on the 25th that it signed Hong Geon-hee for a contract period of 2+2 years worth up to 2.45 billion won (300 million won down payment, 2.1 billion won total annual salary, 50 million won in incentives).
Doosan explained, “The total amount of the contract for the first two years is 950 million won,” and “After the two-year contract ends, a player option worth 1.5 billion won for two years is included.”
Hong Geon-hee was drafted in the second round of the 2011 rookie draft and joined the KIA Tigers before being traded to Doosan during the 2020 season.
Hong Geon-hee wore a Doosan uniform and achieved 12 wins, 24 losses, 39 holds, 44 saves, and an average ERA of 3.46 in 237 games.
His professional record is 403 games, 21 wins, 44 losses, 49 saves, 44 holds, and an average ERA of 5.10.
A Doosan official said, “We negotiated on the premise that he was an essential player for the team because he has consistently been the center of the bullpen for four years,” and added, “We expect good performances both on and off the mound in the future.”
Hong Geon-hee said, “I will continue to wear the Doosan uniform, and my mindset is new. Since I have waited so long, my only goal is to show a better performance on the mound.” 19가이드03
