The curtain came down on the 79th National Men’s and Women’s Championships, held in Glory-gun, Jeollanam-do, on May 5. Onyang Dongshin defeated Hwaseo 30-20 to win the women’s trophy.

Jeon Yoo-ha (8 points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists), Seo Chae-won (6 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals), and Lee Do-gyeom (6 points, 4 steals, 2 rebounds) combined for 20 points, while Hong Min-seo was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after averaging 7.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.8 blocked shots, and 1.2 steals in five games 파워볼사이트 from the preliminary round.

Coach Yoo left the school after the tournament for personal reasons. “Coach Yoo ended the tournament well, but he had to quit due to personal reasons,” said coach In Yoo-yeol. “We were runners-up in the previous tournament (boys’ championship), but I’m happy that we were able to win a valuable title in this tournament. It must have been difficult for the athletes to compete back-to-back in the hot weather, but they were diligent in their training and achieved good results,” he said.

After the successful conclusion of the semifinals, Onyang Dongshincho’s next competition will be the 2024 National Youth Harmony Basketball League Championship (the Championship), which will be held in Yanggu, Gangwon Province, on April 14th.

Coach Yin said, “We won all three qualifying games of the weekend league, so we will enter the championship as the top team in our group. “We are focusing more on recovery than training because the semifinals and championship are a week apart. In this championship, we will be playing mostly underclassmen who haven’t played much, so we are preparing for that,” he said, revealing his team’s preparations for the championship.

Meanwhile, Onyang Dongxincho has a total of 18 players in training this year. Among them, seven sixth graders and one fifth grader are registered players. There are 10 players who are not registered, including one sixth grader, four fifth graders, three fourth graders, and two second and third graders.

After the championship, the team will participate in the 1st Cheongyang Gochujang Goo Gugijubae National Boys and Girls Elementary School Basketball Tournament in September and the 36th Yun Deok Juubae National Boys and Girls Elementary School Basketball Tournament in November.
