Ryu Hyun-jin (36-Hanwha Eagles) couldn’t smile despite six-run support.
Ryu started Sunday’s game against the Samsung Lions at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu, South Korea, and allowed seven runs on 12 hits (one home run) and four walks in five innings with three strikeouts.
It was his second straight 12-hit game since July 31 against the KT Wiz. It was the most hits in a single game in the major leagues.
Against KT, Ryu was able to get the win as the offense supported him with 10 runs.
Once again, the offense did its job. They scored four runs in the first inning alone, and two in the fourth inning to support six runs.
Ryu also got off to a good start. In the top of the first inning, he walked the leadoff batter, Kim Hyun-jun, and gave up a single to Kim Heon-gon. He then retired both Koo Ja-uk and Kang Min-ho on infield singles to end the inning.
In the bottom of the second,
Kim gave up an infield single to leadoff hitter Kim Young-woong, but got Lee Sung-gyu to ground out to third base for two outs. 바카라사이트 Park walked Byung-ho Park but got Lee Jae-hyun to fly out to end the inning. In the bottom of the third inning, he led off with a single, but was able to get a double play to end the inning.
With a 6-0 lead, the fourth inning started with a run. The leadoff batter walked again. After a double by Koo Ja-uk, Kang Min-ho was walked. He got Kim Young-woong and Lee Sung-gyu to fly out and strike out respectively, but gave up a single to Park Byung-ho for the first run.
After a series of shaky outings, Ryu finally broke down in the fifth inning. He gave up a leadoff double to Kim Hyun-joon and an infield single to Kim Heon-gon. With runners on first and third, Koo Ja-rook singled and Kang Min-ho followed with a two-out double. Then, a high fastball to Kim Young-woong was misplayed to tie the game at 6-6.
With the bases loaded, the Samsung bats, once reignited, continued to harass Ryu. After a double by Lee Sung-gyu, Ryu got Park Byung-ho to ground out to short, but Lee Jae-hyun singled to score the seventh run. He struck out Ahn Joo-hyung to end the inning, but the score was already 6-7.
After throwing a total of 100 pitches, Ryu was replaced by Park Sang-won in the bottom of the sixth inning.
